They will work together to develop an individual care plan, which may include laboratory testing, bone density imaging, medications, nutrition interventions, and physical therapy/activity restrictions.
CHKD offers state-of-the-art DXA scanning in a child-friendly environment. DXA scans in children are best interpreted by a pediatric radiologist in order to appropriately evaluate the bone quality. Our bone health specialists have the expertise to identify low bone density in children and develop the most appropriate treatment plan to improve your child’s bone health and minimize the risk of further bone loss and injury.
