Bio
Dr. Cherry was born
in the nation's capital and has lived in Virginia for most of her life. She
graduated from George Mason University with a degree in medical technology and worked for a year
at George Washington University Medical Center doing research and performing receptor and growth factor
assays on breast tumors and other gynecological tumors before going to medical school at
EVMS. After completing her internship
year at Portsmouth Naval Hospital, Dr. Cherry served as a General Medical Officer at the Naval Medical Clinic in Annapolis, MD, for three years, providing care to the brigade of midshipmen and active duty personnel at
the U.S. Naval Academy and U.S. Naval Station. Ninety percent of the patients
were between 17 and 24 years of age.
Dr. Cherry is a mother of two. One of her sons was born prematurely and spent the first six weeks of his life in CHKD's neonatal intensive care unit.

Community Involvement
Dr. Cherry volunteers at a local high school for sports physicals and helps with various Boy Scout and school events.
