Our Goal: Good Health
Chesapeake Pediatrics is a community-minded, family-oriented practice that has served the children of Hampton Roads since 1987. We are especially proud that many of our staff have been here through much of our history.
Our goal is to help your children enjoy good health from infancy through adolescence, and we encourage regular checkups and immunizations to meet this goal. We also participate in the Reach Out and Read program, as well as community events that focus on children’s health and well-being. Our physicians have hospital privileges at CHKD, Chesapeake Regional Medical Center, Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, and Sentara Leigh Hospital.
We encourage a partner-like relationship between the provider, patient, parents, and the community to ensure that your child receives comprehensive, preventive health care and that parents understand the development stages that are part of growing up. We also encourage parents and patients to meet with all of our providers. A friendly face is always comforting to a sick child.
Same-Day Sick Visits
We offer same-day sick appointments upon request as well as access to CHKD specialty practices, many of whom offer appointments at the CHKD Health Center at Oakbrooke.
Sick child walk-in hours are offered at our Discovery Drive location Monday through Friday, from 7:30 to 9 a.m. This service is available for established patients with minor illnesses, including sore throat, cough, flu, fever, ear pain, etc. No appointment is necessary. Patients will be seen on a first-come first-served basis with a limited number of visits available.
A message to our CHKD patient families:
Understanding Childhood Vaccine Recommendations
Parents likely have many questions regarding the Executive Order dated August 10, 2026, related to childhood vaccines. The Executive Order outlines the Administration’s recommendations regarding childhood vaccines and the role that states, the scientific and medical community, and parents should play in considering revisions to current, evidence-based best practices in administering childhood vaccines.
It is important to understand that the Executive Order does not change law, regulation, or evidence-based guidance that CHKD currently follows, including the number, schedule, timing, or composition of vaccines administered by CHKD pediatricians.
