Determining the Value of Donated Property
All items donated to CHKD Thrift Stores are deductible for income tax purposes to the extent allowed by law. Valuations of gifts in kind are the responsibility of the donor. Donors may refer to IRS Tax Publication 526 "Charitable Contributions" and Publication 561 "Determining the Value of Donated Property" at the IRS website www.irs.gov or consult with their tax advisor.
The stores' operations are owned by CHKD Thrift Stores, LLC, a disregarded entity whose sole member is Children's Health System, Inc., a public charity.
