FAQs
Technology has grown at a significant pace over the last decade and as that growth accelerates, security requirements must adapt. Passwords are no longer the mainstay of security when accessing devices, software, websites, and any other form of personal data that requires protection from unauthorized users. Multi-factor authentication, or in this case “two-factor” authentication (2FA), decreases the chances that others will have access to your personal data. The concept for 2FA requires two items, “something you know”, such as a password, and “something you have”, such as your smartphone. Without each of these factors, your attempt to authenticate and login will fail. Users attempting to access your data that only have your password and username will not have the ability to login.
Healthcare organizations and institutions are fast becoming the target of criminals within the cyber world. The two-factor process provides an additional assurance that unauthorized users will not have access to your data or the health system. An important reminder, the Two-Factor process only impacts you when you are logging in from an outside network, such as your home.
Imprivata Confirm ID for Remote Access provides users with a quick and efficient method for accessing the CHKD network from a remote location such as your home. Utilizing multi-factor authentication best practices and taking advantage of existing mobile technology, users can safely and securely access their data without concern of potential unauthorized users taking control. You will have 30 seconds to respond to a push notification, choosing an “Accept” or “Deny” option. If the timer expires you will then have the option to enter the token ID that appears within the Imprivata mobile app.
When attempting to login from an outside network, such as your home, you will see a prompt after entering your username and password. This prompt will indicate that a notification has been sent to your verified device and request authentication.
