Personal Statement

I love working at CHKD because it feels like family, and there is a huge sense of community, support, and love. Our team is diverse and always working together to make the families and patient feel like they matter most.

Bio

Growing up as a military kid, I lived in many places, spending most of my childhood in Astoria, Oregon, and Oswego, New York. Although my mother was a registered nurse, I didn’t initially plan to follow in her footsteps. That changed when I helped care for her during her illness and discovered a deep love for caring for others. I am especially passionate about advocating for children with special needs and supporting their families by connecting them with meaningful community resources.

I have been part of the CHKD family since 2009, beginning as an emergency department nurse, returning in 2013 as a forensic nurse, and now serving as a pediatric nurse practitioner. CHKD has always felt like home because of its unwavering focus on the care of children in Hampton Roads and beyond.

Outside of work, I enjoy reading, traveling, and experiencing new cultures. My husband spent more than 25 years at CHKD as a paramedic, and together we have a son with Fragile X syndrome, two bull mastiffs, and a cat.
