Inpatient Care Units

At our main hospital, inpatient units are arranged in pods to allow greater patient and provider interaction. Patient rooms are designed and equipped to provide the privacy and conveniences a family needs when a child is hospitalized.

General Care Unit CHKD's General Care Unit provides family-centered care to children from birth to age 21 who require medical management and pre/post-surgical care.
Hematology Oncology Unit Any child or young adult with cancer or a blood disorder who requires hospitalization is admitted to our hematology oncology unit.
Medical-Psychiatric Unit On this unit, members of our mental health team work closely with other medical providers to care for children with both physical and mental health concerns.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Neonatal Stepdown Unit CHKD's NICU is the region's most advanced critical care facility for newborns. All rooms provide privacy for parents and babies to bond and rest during visits.

Progressive Care Unit On our Progressive Care Unit, we care for patients who are acutely or chronically ill.
