Coastal Pediatrics has served Elizabeth City and surrounding areas for more than 30 years, providing a friendly, dedicated team of board-certified pediatricians whose primary goal is your child’s health and development. Our team will serve as a home base for all your child’s healthcare by keeping a comprehensive medical history, coordinating all care, and working in partnership with you to ensure that both the medical and non-medical needs of your child and family are met.
We are conveniently located on City Center Boulevard just 45 minutes away from CHKD–our referral center for patients who need pediatric specialty care. Our physicians maintain privileges at Albemarle Hospital and are on call 24/7 to assist in caring for your child.

Understanding Childhood Vaccine Recommendations
Parents likely have many questions regarding the Executive Order dated August 10, 2026, related to childhood vaccines. The Executive Order outlines the Administration’s recommendations regarding childhood vaccines and the role that states, the scientific and medical community, and parents should play in considering revisions to current, evidence-based best practices in administering childhood vaccines.
It is important to understand that the Executive Order does not change law, regulation, or evidence-based guidance that CHKD currently follows, including the number, schedule, timing, or composition of vaccines administered by CHKD pediatricians.

We invite those seeking a pediatrician for their child to come for a free consultation to meet our physicians and tour our facility. We look forward to helping your child grow into a healthy, young adult.
Advanced Care and Co-Management Agreements
At Coastal Pediatrics, we utilize an Advanced Care Team model. Members of our advanced care team include our RN clinical supervisor, who oversees our nursing team and nurse triage line. Our LPN primary care coordinator ensures that our patients obtain their specialty and chronic care needs.
We also have co-management agreements in place, helping to provide optimal health care for our patients. Such agreements provide a framework for better communication and safe transitions of care as we facilitate referrals in a timely and collaborative manner as well as provide all necessary information regarding a recommended treatment plan and methods to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment.
Our Services
Routine checkups are one of the most important ways to keep kids healthy. By maintaining a regular checkup schedule, we can help prevent illness, detect hidden problems, and monitor your child’s development and growth. It’s important for us to see your child often during the first three years – then annually throughout childhood and the teen years.
Giving your baby the recommended immunizations by age two is the best way to protect them from serious diseases.
We encourage parents to follow the American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines.
Dental health is important, too. Our providers offer oral fluoride varnish starting at six months of age or at the time of primary tooth eruption.
Our care team includes an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) available to assist with your breastfeeding needs. Lactation visits take place in our office and are covered by your baby’s insurance. These visits include a health history, baby exam, and guidance on topics that will enable you to meet your breastfeeding goals, including proper positioning and latch on tips, maternal nutrition, and management of a variety of breastfeeding challenges.

Coastal Pediatrics utilizes Press Ganey to understand and improve the entire patient experience. After you see one of our providers, you may receive a paper survey in the mail or an electronic survey via email. Please take the time to let us know how we can continuously improve as your medical home.
After-hours Telehealth Appointments
Coastal Pediatrics has partnered with Hello Pediatrics, a group of Board-Certified Pediatricians, to provide after-hours telehealth appointments. Your child’s visit notes will be entered into their Coastal Pediatric medical records, and your primary care provider will offer follow-up and continuing care, if necessary. We Believe in Kids in Parks
The Kids in Parks program has established a network of trails designed to provide kids and families with fun outdoor activities. Through their TRACK Rx program, our providers are promoting this program and formally prescribing our patients to get active outdoors and reconnected to nature through this exciting program.
