At Norfolk Pediatrics, we emphasize a warm and relaxed atmosphere where children feel comfortable.

Routine checkups are one of the most important ways to keep kids healthy. By maintaining a regular checkup schedule, we can help prevent illness, detect hidden problems, and monitor your child’s development and growth.

It’s important for us to see your child often during the first three years – then annually throughout childhood and the teen years. If your child is a student athlete, remember to have your sports physical completed during your annual well visit.

Because we understand that wellness is much more than physical health, we work with CHKD to provide comprehensive partnership with our families — offering access to the most up-to-date evidence-based care and providing a wide variety of educational programs designed to support patients and families in making good choices and sustaining healthy behaviors.

When Your Child Is Sick

If your child is sick and needs to see a doctor, we encourage you to call us as early as possible in the day. Our staff will help evaluate your child’s condition to determine if a same-day sick or urgent visit is needed. When appropriate, we will provide home-care advice for your child.

Reach Out and Read

At Norfolk Pediatrics, we recognize the importance of reading to your child at an early age. That's why we participate in the Reach Out and Read program, offering age-appropriate books to children up to 5 years of age at each well-child visit.

Quality, Patient-Centered Care

NCQA logoA medical home is not a place – it’s the way our healthcare team provides the highest quality services to best meet the needs of your child and your family. It is a trusting partnership between you, your child, and your child’s primary care team. It’s where your child’s medical records are complete, and everyone knows your name. And, it’s a pediatrician who will help you access and coordinate specialty care, educational resources, family support, and any other services that are important to the well-being of your child. We are proud to have been recognized as a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for our commitment to the highest quality, patient-centered care.
