Our Goal: Good Health

Nansemond Pediatrics is a family-oriented, community-oriented practice specializing in the primary care of infants, children, and adolescents.

Our pediatricians have a long history of practicing in the Suffolk area and more than 70 years of combined pediatric experience. We strive to provide child-friendly, exceptional medical care in an environment that is inviting and comfortable for the entire family.

Our goal is to help children enjoy good health and development from infancy through adolescence. We have easy access to specialty care available at Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters

Our staff was carefully selected to ensure that our patients are always treated with the kindness, compassion, and care we would expect for our own family and friends. We strive to work together to keep your children healthy, safe, happy, and on a path to reach their fullest potential. We want our patients and families to look forward to visiting us as much as we look forward to seeing them.

Our providers foster partnerships between the physician, patient, parents, and the community in the management of your child’s health. We encourage families to choose a primary care physician who will be their child’s primary provider for regular checkups and immunizations.

Same-Day Appointments

We offer a limited number of same-day appointments. Available upon request.

After-hours Telehealth Appointments

Nansemond Pediatrics has partnered with Hello Pediatrics, a group of Board-Certified Pediatricians, to provide after-hours telehealth appointments. Your child’s visit notes will be entered into their Nansemond Pediatric medical records, and your primary care provider will offer follow-up and continuing care, if necessary. Please call (855) 502-9899 for after-hours telehealth appointments.

A message to our CHKD patient families:
Understanding Childhood Vaccine Recommendations

Parents likely have many questions regarding the Executive Order dated August 10, 2026, related to childhood vaccines. The Executive Order outlines the Administration’s recommendations regarding childhood vaccines and the role that states, the scientific and medical community, and parents should play in considering revisions to current, evidence-based best practices in administering childhood vaccines.

It is important to understand that the Executive Order does not change law, regulation, or evidence-based guidance that CHKD currently follows, including the number, schedule, timing, or composition of vaccines administered by CHKD pediatricians.

To read our full message, please visit CHKD's Immunizations web page.

Reach Out and Read

Reading to your child at an early age is important. That's why we participate in the Reach Out and Read program, offering age-appropriate books to children up to 5 years of age at each well-child visit.
